Yoshihisa Kamo

Yoshihisa Kamo was a Japanese actor, voice actor, and illustrator. He was born on November 24, 1932, in Tokushima Prefecture. He died on April 25, 1994, at the age of 61. He began his career in the performing arts while still a student at the College of Art at Nihon University, working as a stagehand and actor in theater and film. During the early years of television in Japan, he became an active voice actor, providing voices for foreign drama dubs and anime. He was affiliated with the talent agencies Aoni Production and the Tokyo Actor's Consumer's Cooperative Society.

Kamo is known for his voice roles in several classic anime series from the 1960s. In the 1965 series Prince Planet, he provided the voice for the character Ajababa. In the 1967 anime adaptation of the manga Perman, he was the original voice actor for the character Paryan, also known as Parman No. 4 or Hozen Oyama. Other notable roles included Dr. Blackdog in the 1963 television series Gigantor and Samegirus in the 1972 series Hazedon. He also had roles in Astro Boy, Gatchaman, and provided the voice for Akamimi the fox in the movie Doggie March.

In addition to his performance work, Yoshihisa Kamo was also active as an illustrator and book designer under the name Kamo Yoshihisa. In 1985, he founded the Japan Book Designers Association, a rights organization for book designers.
