Arihiro Fujimura

Arihiro Fujimura was a Japanese comedian, television actor, and voice actor, active from the late 1950s until his death in 1982. He was born on March 6, 1934, in Tokyo's Chiyoda ward. Before his voice acting career, Fujimura gained popularity as a comedian, known for a comedy act that involved speaking a fake foreign language. He also appeared in live-action television dramas, including the 1961 NHK drama Wakai Kisetsu and the series Hatoko no Umi.

Fujimura's work as a voice actor spanned both animation and puppetry. He is particularly recognized for originating the voice of Don Gabacho in the popular NHK puppet show Hyokkori Hyōtan-jima. In anime, he was the voice of Cyborg 006, Chang Changku, in the 1960s films Cyborg 009 and Cyborg 009 and the Monster Wars. His other anime film roles included the Inspector in Andersen Monogatari and a French Noble in Nutcracker Fantasy. In addition to these works, Fujimura also contributed his voice to the puppet show Sky City 008.

Beyond his acting career, Fujimura was a notable public figure, appearing as a performer at the 16th and 24th Kōhaku Uta Gassen, the prestigious New Year's Eve music broadcast. Arihiro Fujimura passed away on March 16, 1982, due to diabetes mellitus.
