Edward Mannix was an American voice actor, author, and journalist, born on July 26, 1928, in Jersey City, New Jersey. He built a prolific career primarily through his work in dubbing films and television shows, with much of his early activity centered in Rome, Italy, and later in Los Angeles. His career spanned several decades until his death on August 2, 1995, in Glendale, California.

Mannix was extensively involved in creating English-language versions of foreign productions, notably providing voices for numerous Italian genre films, including those starring actor Bud Spencer, for whom he became the regular English voice. In the realm of anime and animated series, his voice can be heard in several prominent English adaptations from the 1980s and 1990s. His filmography includes roles in classic anime such as Uncle Pom in the Streamline Pictures English version of Hayao Miyazaki's Castle in the Sky and General T. Jefferson in Golgo 13: The Professional. He also contributed to the Robotech franchise, providing voices for Robotech: The Movie, Robotech II: The Sentinels as Cabell, and the original Robotech TV series as characters like Minmei's Father and Uncle Max. He often used the pseudonym Cyn Branch for some of his dubbing work, including his role as Uncle Pom. Other noted anime roles include the Chamberlain in Ninja Scroll and Professor Amano in the English version of Teito Monogatari (帝都物語). Additionally Mannix provided voices in the English adaptation of the series Little Women, playing the roles of Dr. Banks and Mr. Moffatt.

Throughout his dubbing career, Mannix developed recurring collaborations with a network of fellow voice actors and directors. In Italy, he frequently worked with director Enzo G. Castellari on films like The Bronx Warriors and The New Barbarians.
