Lauren Worsham

Description
Lauren Worsham is an American actress and singer with a brief portfolio of voice acting credits in English-language dubs of anime series from the late 1990s. Her work in anime represents a small facet of a career primarily distinguished by achievements in musical theater and opera.

Worsham graduated cum laude from Yale University with a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish Literature. While her professional trajectory would lead to significant acclaim on the stage, her early credits include voice work for anime productions licensed by ADV Films. She is noted for providing the English voice for the character Urara Kasuga in the 1997 anime series Sakura Diaries. In a 2014 profile, she was described as being especially proud of this particular performance among her screen credits.

Her other known roles in the anime voice acting field are from the original video animation series Variable Geo. In the 1999 English adaptation released by ADV Films, Worsham voiced the characters Bunny and Young Reimi, in addition to providing the voice for a Yuka's Co-Worker in the first episode. While a character named Reimi Jahana is a primary antagonist in the series, the specific role of "Young Reimi" credits Worsham with voicing a younger version of that character.

Outside of her anime voice work, Lauren Worsham has achieved considerable success in theater and opera. She was a Tony Award nominee and Drama Desk Award winner for her performance in the 2014 Broadway musical A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder. Her other stage credits span opera and musical theater, including roles with the New York City Opera and in the first national tour of The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee. She is also the lead singer for the rock band Sky-Pony and a co-founder and executive director of the downtown opera company, The Coterie.
