Kanako Irie is a Japanese voice actress and actress from Fukuoka Prefecture, born on March 27, 1969. Her career in the entertainment industry began in the early 1990s, with one of her first credited roles being in the 1991 series "My Hime-chan ni!".

Irie is known for her work in several prominent anime series. She was a regular cast member in the 1996 version of Rurouni Kenshin, providing the voice for the character Yumi Komagata. She later reprised this role for the Rurouni Kenshin: New Kyoto Arc original video animations in 2011 and 2012. In 2000, she voiced the character Dandeylah in the series Bikkuriman 2000. Another significant role came in 2004 when she joined the cast of Yu-Gi-Oh! GX, voicing the character Johan Andersen, also known as Jesse Anderson in some localizations. Her voice work also includes a role as Becca in the 2012 series Monsuno.

Throughout her career, Irie has had recurring collaborations with several fellow voice actors. Her work on projects like Rurouni Kenshin and Yu-Gi-Oh! GX led to multiple collaborations with actors such as Yuko Mizutani, Kenjiro Tsuda, Takehito Koyasu, and Yuji Ueda.

In addition to her voice acting, Irie has also appeared in live-action projects. Her filmography includes a role in the 2004 live-action film Shimotsuma Monogatari, also known as Kamikaze Girls. More recently, in 2024, she performed in a stage production of No.6: The Musical.
