Didier Cherbuy is a French actor primarily known for his extensive work in dubbing, providing the French-language voices for numerous characters in live-action films, television series, and animated programs. Born on March 12, 1960, in Auxerre, France, his path to voice acting began with a passion for theater, which he discovered at the age of fifteen. He pursued this interest at the Lycée Jacques-Amyot in Auxerre and later moved to Paris, where he trained at the Charles Dullin drama school while establishing himself on the stage. After approximately fifteen years of performing in theatrical productions, Cherbuy transitioned into the field of dubbing, a move that would define the majority of his career.

In the realm of animation and anime, Didier Cherbuy has lent his voice to a wide variety of characters. He is perhaps most recognized by anime fans for his role as the titular character, Warrius Zero, in the series Cosmo Warrior Zero and its related work, Cosmo Warrior Zero Gaiden. His other notable anime roles include Dice Quaid in Blue Gender, Fuji in Gokusen, and Tetsuo Kaga in Hikaru no Go. He also provided the second French voice for the character Smoker in the long-running series One Piece. His voice work extends to various other anime such as Samurai Champloo, Last Exile, and Master Keaton, demonstrating a broad range within the genre.

Beyond anime, Cherbuy's voice is widely recognized from his regular dubbing of live-action actors. He is the official French voice for Mekhi Phifer, notably as Dr. Gregory Pratt in the series ER, and for Jason Segel as Marshall Eriksen in How I Met Your Mother. He also took on the iconic role of Terry McGinnis / Batman in the French version of the animated series Batman Beyond and its associated film.

In a 2015 interview, Cherbuy estimated that he had dubbed recurring characters in around thirty television series and held significant roles in approximately fifteen films. He has also contributed as a voice actor in video games and for theme park attractions, further solidifying his status as a prominent and versatile figure in French dubbing.
