Angelina Gatell was a Spanish poet, translator, and voice actress, recognized for her extensive work in dubbing, particularly during the latter half of the twentieth century. Born Angelina Gatell Comas in Barcelona on June 8, 1926, she developed a multifaceted career that spanned literature, theater, and audiovisual media. Her professional life was marked by a deep commitment to political and social causes, which often brought her into conflict with the cultural censorship of the Francoist regime.

Gatell's career in voice acting and dubbing began in earnest after she moved to Madrid in 1958, where she started working for Televisión Española as an actress, screenwriter, and dubbing artist. Following a blacklisting from TVE due to her political protests, she was hired by dubbing studios such as SAGO and Oro Films. It was here that she would spend the next thirty-two years, working not only as a voice actress but also as a dialogue adapter and dubbing director.

In the realm of anime and animated series for the Spanish market, Gatell is known for her contributions to several classic productions. She provided the Spanish dub voice for the character Anna Rossi in the series Marco - From the Apennines to the Andes. Her involvement with these series often extended beyond voice acting. For the anime Heidi - A Girl of the Alps, she not only voiced characters, including Clara's grandmother and various villagers, but also served as the ADR (Automated Dialogue Replacement) director for episodes 21 through 52 and contributed to the ADR script. Her creative influence on the Spanish version of Heidi is particularly notable; she was responsible for renaming the protagonist's dog. The original name Joseph was changed to the now-iconic Niebla (Fog), a name she conceived as a tribute to the poet Pablo Neruda. Gatell also directed the Spanish dubbing for the series The Adventures of Tom Sawyer and Once Upon a Time... Man.

While her work in dubbing formed a significant part of her professional life, it was one facet of a broader artistic identity. Gatell was also a published poet, winning the prestigious Valencia Poetry Prize in 1954, and a translator of hundreds of books.
