Makoto Higo

Makoto Higo was a Japanese voice actor born on June 1, 1971, in Shimane Prefecture, Japan. He passed away in 2025. After graduating from the Yoyogi Animation School, he began his career in voice acting, initially affiliated with the talent agency Ken Production before later joining KeKKe Corporation.
Higo provided voices for numerous anime series and films across several decades. One of his earliest and most notable roles was as Futoshi Sakaguchi in the 1997 original video animation I Dream of Mimi. He had a long association with the Pokémon franchise, voicing characters such as Kai in the original Pokémon anime and Pokémon Chronicles, and Sid in the seventh film, Pokémon: Destiny Deoxys.
His extensive filmography includes a wide range of supporting and guest roles in popular series. He is credited as Tomoru Taguchi in Dai-Guard, as Rikaku and Mousen in The Twelve Kingdoms, and as Nishida, Nishimoto, and Satou in Ai Yori Aoshi. Other credits include roles in Initial D, Last Exile, Astro Boy, Tokyo Tribe-2, and B-Daman CrossFire.
