Ako Mayama is a Japanese voice actress known for her long and prolific career, specializing in character roles that range from young boys to elderly women. She was born Yasuyo Kawando on November 15, 1958, in Gifu Prefecture. She is a graduate of Toyo University. Prior to 2003, she was widely known by the stage name Rin Mizuhara. She is currently affiliated with Kenyu Office.

Mayama began her career in theater before transitioning to voice acting in her late twenties. Her distinctive, low-pitched voice has made her a sought-after talent for portraying characters with unique personalities, particularly those with a gruff or eccentric nature. She has built an extensive filmography across anime, video games, and dubbing for foreign films.

Among her many roles, she is particularly recognized for voicing Sugiyama-kun in the long-running series Chibi Maruko-chan. She has also had prominent parts in several major franchises. She voices multiple characters in One Piece, including Kokoro and Nyon. In the anime Fairy Tail, she played the role of Ooba Babasaama. Her role as the shaman Torogai in Moribito - Guardian of the Spirit is another notable performance. Other significant credits include the fortune teller in The Tatami Galaxy, Irma in Birdy the Mighty Decode, Yaobikuni in Blade of the Immortal, and Mitsue "Obaba" Arihoshi in the Yo-kai Watch Shadowside series. More recently, she has voiced characters in popular series such as SPY x FAMILY, the 2024 remake of Ranma ½ as Cologne, and Jujutsu Kaisen.
