Franziska Ball

Description
Franziska Ball is a German actress, voice actress, singer, and cabaret artist, born in Munich in 1971. She pursued her passion for performance by studying theater sciences, literature, and psychology at the Ludwig Maximilian University in Munich, followed by acting and singing training at the Neue Münchner Schauspielschule and the Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute in New York. Her career began in the late 1990s, with extensive work on stage in over fifty theater productions and musicals across Germany. She is also a lecturer for speech training at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Munich.

In addition to her on-camera roles in German television series such as Die Rosenheim-Cops, SOKO München, and Frühling, Ball has built a substantial career as a voice actress, lending her voice to numerous characters in film and television. Her voice work in the anime genre is documented by her role as the character Zest in the German-language dubs of the series. She provided the voice for Zest in the 2015 anime series The Testament of Sister New Devil and its sequel The Testament of Sister New Devil BURST, also from 2015. She later reprised this role for the 2018 film, The Testament of Sister New Devil Departures. Her other voice acting credits include the series Dark Matter and an early role in the Pokémon franchise.

Beyond acting, Ball is a creative force in the cabaret and music scene. Together with Marty Jabara, she founded the music-theater duo balljabara, for which she writes and performs. Her solo music-cabaret programs, often centered on her stage persona Clara Loft, have received critical recognition, including the second jury prize at the Amici Artium cabaret award in 2018 and both the audience award and third jury prize at the Rostocker Koggenzieher in 2017. Her work also extends to audiobooks and radio features for broadcasters like the Bayerischer Rundfunk.
