Description
Mito Jūjō is a supporting character in Seraph of the End: Battle in Nagoya. She is a colonel in the Japanese Imperial Demon Army and a member of Guren Ichinose's squad within the Moon Demon Company. She comes from the Jūjō family, one of the three prestigious clans that serve the Hīragi family, and is the daughter of that household. Her background includes being a former classmate at First Shibuya High School. A significant yet hidden part of her past is that she was killed by Mahiru Hīragi eight years before the events of the story and later resurrected by the Seraph of the End experiment, although Mito herself remains unaware of this fact.

Mito has a personality that blends a strong sense of duty with a traditional, well-bred demeanor. She is attentive to etiquette and station, and she is known to be somewhat stubborn. In battle, she is practical, quick to act, and highly focused on the safety of her team and the success of the mission. She can be serious and stern, especially when addressing shortcomings in others, but she also shows a flustered side when caught off guard by personal remarks. While she initially refuses to fully recognize Guren's leadership due to his lower rank, she ultimately follows his orders with loyalty and respect. Her motivations are rooted in her sense of responsibility as a soldier and a member of a noble clan, and she shares her team's broader goal of resurrecting humanity.

Within the story, Mito plays a supporting role in Guren's squad, participating in high-stakes missions against vampires. She takes part in the defense of Shinjuku from a large-scale vampire invasion and joins the coordinated attack on vampire nobles in Nagoya, which involves one hundred Moon Demon Company soldiers. During the Nagoya airport battle, she and her squad choose to fight against Kureto Hīragi and his Seraph of the End experiment, and they also assist the Shinoa squad. She serves as a reliable and capable asset in combat, often moving to where she is most needed.

Key relationships include her loyalty to Guren Ichinose as her squad leader, despite her initial reluctance to acknowledge his authority. She also interacts with Shinya Hīragi, turning to him for guidance after Guren is captured. During a practice match against Shinoa Hīragi's squad, she assesses their skills and demonstrates her strategic thinking by preventing Shinoa from engaging by stepping on her scythe. Her bond with her fellow squad members, including Shigure and Sayuri, reflects a deep sense of camaraderie and trust.

Mito's character shows development through her growing willingness to act on her own judgment, as seen when she joins the opposition to Kureto's experiment despite the chain of command. Her loyalty remains consistent, but she becomes more proactive in supporting what she believes is right.

Notable abilities include her mastery of cursed gear that enhances her physical strength for fist-based close-quarters combat, allowing her to deliver powerful blows. She uses a demon weapon named Kagutsuchi. Additionally, she employs spellcast techniques passed down through the Jūjō family, which involve placing a curse upon herself to raise her physical capabilities in battle. Her fighting style emphasizes speed, precision, and raw power, making her a formidable opponent in close quarters.
