Dorette Hugo is a German voice actress and dialogue director, born in Münster in 1965. She trained at the KAMA-Theater in Berlin and began her career with engagements at various theaters in the city before focusing on voice work. Since the early 1990s, she has also worked extensively as a dialogue director for film and television productions. She is primarily known for dubbing the voices of numerous Hollywood actresses, and her work includes voice roles in animated films and series. In the Japanese-American animated film Little Nemo: Adventures in Slumberland, she provided the German voice for the character Prinzessin Camille. Her most iconic voice role is the title character Ariel in the German dubbing of Disney's The Little Mermaid. She is also widely recognized as the voice of the inventive mouse Trixie in the animated series Chip 'n' Dale: Rescue Rangers. Beyond animation, she has built a significant career dubbing actresses such as Jennifer Garner, Winona Ryder, Salma Hayek, and Joey Lauren Adams across numerous films. In the German audio play realm, she is the permanent and long-standing voice of Tina Martin in the popular Bibi und Tina series, a role she has played since the early 1990s. She has also lent her voice to productions like The Three??? and TKKG. Her work is characterized by its versatility, ranging from warm and youthful to energetic and comedic tones.
