Her career is marked by extensive work in dubbing for film and television, as well as hosting and radio, for which she has received prestigious awards. Her role as Sayogoromo in the 2015 animated film Miss Hokusai is one of her credits within the anime genre.

Steffenhagen's path to voice acting includes a strong foundation in performance and academia. She studied political science at the Free University of Berlin and, as a DAAD scholar, at Trinity College in Dublin, graduating in 2001. Alongside her academic pursuits, she developed her performance skills, living in Canada, London, and Dublin, which led to fluency in English for her professional work. For over a decade, she was a stage performer with the acclaimed cult show Die Rixdorfer Perlen at the Heimathafen Neukölln in Berlin.

She is also the German voice of Maddie Wachowski in the Sonic the Hedgehog film series.
