John Kassir is an American actor and voice actor, born on October 24, 1957, in Baltimore, Maryland. He began his career in stand-up comedy, gaining early recognition by winning the television talent competition Star Search in 1983. Kassir is widely known for voicing the Crypt Keeper in the HBO series Tales from the Crypt and its related franchise. His extensive voice work spans numerous animated series, including a long-running role on The Simpsons starting in 1992, as well as characters in shows like CatDog, Samurai Jack, and The Amazing World of Gumball. His film voice credits include Meeko in Disney's Pocahontas and additional voices for major animated features such as Minions and The Grinch.

In the context of anime, Kassir contributed his voice to the English adaptation of the animated film Bayonetta: Bloody Fate, which was released in 2013. Produced by the anime studio Gonzo, the film is an adaptation of the Bayonetta video game.
