Patrick Messe is a French actor primarily known for his extensive work in dubbing, providing the French voices for numerous characters in live-action films, television series, and animated projects. Born in Paris on August 12, 1945, he trained at the Conservatoire National Supérieur d’Art Dramatique in France.

Messe has been particularly active in dubbing Japanese anime, where he is recognized for several iconic roles. He is the regular French voice of Inspector Koichi Zenigata, known as Inspecteur Gaston Lacogne in the French versions, across the Lupin III franchise. His work in this long-running series includes films such as The Secret of Mamo, The Castle of Cagliostro, and Napoleon's Dictionary. In the anime series Vinland Saga, he voiced the character Ragnar in the Netflix French dub. Another notable early role was providing the voice for the character Rei in the film version of Fist of the North Star (Ken le survivant). In the original video animation (OVA) Dominion Tank Police, he is credited as the second voice for Lieutenant Brenten.

Beyond anime, Messe has a distinguished career as a character actor on stage and screen, but his voice is most widely recognized by French audiences for his dubbing of major Hollywood figures. He is the French voice of Robbie Coltrane as Rubeus Hagrid in the first five Harry Potter films. He has also dubbed actors such as Miguel Ferrer, John Noble, and Gerald McRaney across various television series, and has lent his voice to films including Mars Attacks! (as Jack Nicholson), Django Unchained, and Transformers: Rise of the Beasts (as Optimus Prime).
