Sonja Deutsch is a German actress and voice artist, born in 1937. She trained as an actress at the Lacknerstudio in Berlin. Her career began on stage, and from 1962 to 1976 she performed in theaters in Erfurt, Brandenburg, and Potsdam, taking on roles such as the title character in The Diary of Anne Frank and Luise in Schiller's Kabale und Liebe. She also appeared in German television series, with guest roles in productions like Polizeiruf 110, Lindenstraße, and In aller Freundschaft.
While Deutsch has worked extensively as an on-screen actress, she is particularly renowned for her prolific work as a voice artist. Since the late 1950s, she has lent her voice to numerous characters in films, television series, and radio plays. She is the German dubbing voice for many prominent actresses, including Helen Mirren in films like The Queen and National Treasure: Book of Secrets, Yvonne De Carlo as Lily Munster in The Munsters, Carol Ann Susi as the unseen Mrs. Wolowitz in The Big Bang Theory, and Angela Lansbury in her final film Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery.
