Friedel Morgenstern is a German voice actress known for her extensive work in dubbing, particularly for providing the German voices for numerous characters in anime series and films. Born Marie-Christin Morgenstern on 16 August 1993 in Potsdam, she adopted the stage name Friedel following her breakthrough in dubbing. Her elder sister, Lydia Morgenstern, is also a voice actress.
Morgenstern began her dubbing career at the age of nine and made her debut at twelve in the 2005 film Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, where she dubbed the voice of Abigail Breslin's character, Violet Beauregarde. In the early part of her career, she frequently lent her voice to the roles of actresses AnnaSophia Robb and Abigail Breslin. She has since voiced characters in over 300 film and series productions.
Her work in anime dubbing is extensive. She is the German voice for Rikka Takanashi in both the Love, Chunibyo & Other Delusions! series and its sequel, Love, Chunibyo & Other Delusions! -Heart Throb-, as well as the film Love, Chunibyo & Other Delusions! Take on Me. Morgenstern voices Rachel Gardner in Angels of Death and takes on the role of Mayuri Shiina in both Steins;Gate and Steins;Gate 0. In the film Kizumonogatari Part 1: Tekketsu, she is the German voice for Shinobu Oshino. Her other notable anime dubbing credits include the title character Yoyo in Magical Sisters Yoyo & Nene, Natsuki Koyama in Welcome to the SPACE SHOW, and Momo Miyaura in A Letter to Momo.
Morgenstern has received recognition for her dubbing work. She won the German Prize for Synchron as the outstanding young talent of the year in 2007 and received the German Dubbing Award for her performance dubbing Abigail Breslin in the 2006 film Little Miss Sunshine.
