Ichi Yukishiro
Description
Ichi Yukishiro is a manga artist originally from northern Italy who has been creating manga professionally since the age of eighteen. Yukishiro has cited the influential creative duo Akira Himekawa, known for their work on manga adaptations of The Legend of Zelda, as well as the works of Yū Watase and Arina Tanemura, as major artistic influences.
Yukishiro is the author and illustrator of the manga series The Skull Dragon's Precious Daughter, which is also known under the French title L'Enfant du Dragon fantôme and the Japanese title Hone Dragon no Manamusume. The story is set in a fantastical world and follows Eve, a young human girl abandoned in a place called the Forest of Abandonment, where she is found and raised by an aging dragon named Dodo. After the dragon dies, Eve uses a spell to bring his soul back as a ghost, and the pair embark on adventures together as she hones her magical abilities. The series explores themes of found family, acceptance of others, and respect for nature, with the forest that serves as a dumping ground providing an ecological undercurrent to the narrative. The manga is published in France by Komikku Éditions, which has released multiple volumes, and the series is ongoing. The first volume was published in French on May 27, 2021. The series has been categorized by different distributors as both seinen and shojo manga.
Beyond The Skull Dragon's Precious Daughter, Yukishiro is also the creator of a two-volume series titled Les trésors d'Izumi, which follows a young girl devoid of emotions who can perceive the feelings of others as threads and, with a classmate's help, works to return precious objects to their owners.
In March 2026, an official announcement confirmed that The Skull Dragon's Precious Daughter will receive a television anime adaptation. The anime is being produced by the animation studio Doga Kobo, with Kuniyasu Nishina serving as director, Yuka Yamada handling series composition, and Tomoya Atsumi responsible for character design.
