Stefan Kaminski

Description
Stefan Kaminski is a German actor and voice artist, born in Dresden in 1974. He trained at the Ernst Busch Academy of Dramatic Arts in Berlin from 1999 to 2003 and was subsequently a member of the ensemble at the Deutsches Theater Berlin. His career began in radio during the 1990s, where he worked as an author, moderator, and music journalist for stations like Radio Brandenburg and Radio Fritz. This early experience contributed to the creation of his live radio play theater format, Kaminski ON AIR, developed during his time at the Deutsches Theater.

In the realm of anime and dubbing, Kaminski is widely recognized as the German voice of the protagonist Momonga, also known as Ainz Ooal Gown, in the anime series Overlord. His performance in the series is noted for capturing the character's duality, balancing the authoritative and fearsome demeanor of the dark ruler with the uncertain and self-critical inner thoughts of the character. Beyond this signature anime role, his dubbing work is highly versatile. He has provided the German voice for Jared Leto's portrayal of the Joker in films such as Suicide Squad and Zack Snyder's Justice League. He is also the long-standing German voice of Kermit the Frog in various Muppets productions since 2011, including films and television series.

Kaminski's career is distinguished by extensive work as an audiobook and radio play narrator, with over 200 published titles to his name. He is celebrated for his vocal range and skill in voice morphing, bringing a wide array of characters to life in a single production. This talent has earned him numerous accolades, including the German Audiobook Prize in 2017, 2019, and 2022, as well as multiple prizes from the German Record Critics' Award. A significant recent achievement is his narration of the 200-hour audiobook adaptation of George R. R. Martin's A Song of Ice and Fire series, released in 2025.
