Kaoru Shinozaki
Description
Kaoru Shinozaki is a Japanese writer recognized as the original creator of the light novel, manga, and anime series Failure Frame: I Became the Strongest and Annihilated Everything With Low-Level Spells. Shinozaki is also known for another work titled Seiju no Kuni no Kinju Tsukai.
The Failure Frame series began as a web novel on the user-generated content site Shōsetsuka ni Narō on November 24, 2017. The story was later acquired for print publication, with the first light novel volume released on July 25, 2018, under Overlap Bunko, featuring illustrations by KWKM. As of late 2024, the light novel series comprised ten volumes in Japan. The narrative follows Touka Mimori, a student summoned to a fantasy world by a goddess and given weak abilities, who is subsequently cast into a deadly dungeon. He survives using his seemingly useless status effect skills and vows revenge against the goddess who abandoned him. The series is categorized as dark fantasy and isekai.
A manga adaptation of Failure Frame, with composition by Keyaki Uchi-Uchi and art by Shō Uyoshi, began serialization on the Comic Gardo website on July 26, 2019. An anime television adaptation produced by the studio Seven Arcs premiered on July 5, 2024. In the production of the anime, Kaoru Shinozaki is credited for the original work. Shinozaki’s role as the original creator forms the foundation for all these adaptations.
