Ricardo Nóvoa was a Brazilian voice actor and dubbing director with a career spanning from the 1950s into the early 2000s. Born in Santos, São Paulo, in 1940, he began his artistic career in radio, working as a radio actor at Rádio Nacional de São Paulo before transitioning to television and eventually becoming a prominent figure in dubbing.

His voice acting work in dubbing was extensive, covering films, television series, and animated shows. In anime and animation, he is known for his role as the voice of Professor Gênio in the Brazilian Portuguese dubbing of the film Little Nemo: Adventures in Slumberland, a production handled by the Álamo studio. His other notable roles in animation include being the first voice of Vovô Lou in Os Anjinhos (The Rugrats) and voicing Cornélius in As Aventuras de Babar. He also provided the narration for the animated series Doug.

In addition to animation, Nóvoa lent his voice to numerous actors in live-action productions. He was the regular Brazilian Portuguese voice for actors such as Martin Ferrero, Robert Duvall, Patrick McGoohan, and Yehuda Efroni in various films. Some of his specific film credits include dubbing Robert Duvall in Apocalypse Now and Patrick McGoohan in Braveheart. He was also active in dubbing tokusatsu series, providing voices for characters like General Jark in Kamen Rider Black and Deslock in Spielvan.

Beyond performing, Ricardo Nóvoa had a significant career as a dubbing director, working at major studios including Ibrasom, Álamo, and Clone over several decades. In this role, he directed the dubbing for productions such as the series Anos Incríveis (The Wonder Years) and the film O Máskara (The Mask). He retired from dubbing in the early 2000s and passed away in June 2021.
