Thierry Hancisse is a Belgian actor whose voice is well-known to French audiences, both for his stage work and his extensive performances in dubbing. Born on November 20, 1962, in Namur, he is a prominent figure in French theater, having been trained at the Cours Florent and become the 486th sociétaire of the prestigious Comédie-Française in 1993, later serving as the troupe's dean. While his primary career is on stage, he has built a significant parallel career in voice acting, lending his distinctive voice to numerous animated films, radio plays, and audiobooks.

In the realm of animation dubbing, Hancisse has taken on a variety of memorable roles. He provided the French voice for the character Mandrake in the Studio Ghibli film Earwig and the Witch, directed by Goro Miyazaki. His other prominent anime voice roles include the fierce Kumatetsu in Mamoru Hosoda's The Boy and the Beast and King Léonce in The Famous Invasion of Bears in Sicily. He also voiced the villainous Wilson Fisk, also known as the Kingpin, in the French dub of the animated feature Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. Beyond these, his work in animation includes roles in films such as L'Extraordinaire Voyage de Marona and The Garfield Movie.

Hancisse's voice work, however, extends well beyond animation. He is a prolific dubber for live-action films and series, known for being one of the regular French voices for actors such as Liev Schreiber and John Travolta. He has also frequently dubbed Ben Mendelsohn, Philip Seymour Hoffman, and Vincent D'Onofrio, the latter notably as Wilson Fisk in the Marvel Cinematic Universe series Daredevil. More recently, he took over the role of dubbing Arnold Schwarzenegger, becoming the new French voice for the actor starting with the series FUBAR. In addition to on-screen dubbing, he has narrated numerous audiobooks and portrayed Captain Haddock in several radio adaptations of The Adventures of Tintin for France Culture. His achievements have been recognized with the distinction of Officer of the Order of Arts and Letters.
