Yukino Ichihara is a Japanese manga artist best known as the co-creator of the manga and anime series 07-Ghost. She was born on November 24 in Fukushima Prefecture, Japan.
Ichihara began her career in the early 2000s creating fan-made doujinshi based on the popular series Naruto. She made her professional debut in 2005 when she started publishing 07-Ghost in collaboration with writer Yuki Amemiya. The series was serialized in Ichijinsha's josei manga magazine Monthly Comic Zero Sum from June 2005 until its conclusion on August 28, 2013. The collected chapters were published in seventeen tankobon volumes.
07-Ghost is set in a fantasy world featuring its own unique laws, kingdoms, deities, and magical system known as Zaiphon. The story follows Teito Klein, a boy who possesses a powerful artifact called the Eye of Mikael and seeks to uncover the secrets of his past while becoming entangled in an ancient conflict involving the evil death god Verloren and seven guardians known as the Seven Ghosts. The series has been translated into over a dozen languages and published internationally, including in North America where it was initially licensed by Go! Comi and later by Viz Media.
In 2009, 07-Ghost was adapted into a twenty-five episode anime television series produced by Studio Deen, directed by Yoshihiro Takamoto, and broadcast on Japanese UHF stations from April 7 to September 22, 2009. The franchise also spawned multiple drama CDs and a spin-off manga titled 07-Ghost Children, which was serialized from 2009 to 2010 and collected into a single volume.
Following the success of 07-Ghost, Ichihara and Amemiya collaborated on Battle Rabbits, a josei manga series published by Ichijinsha beginning in 2014. The story follows Kokuryuu Kaguya, a teenager who witnessed his father's murder by demons and later discovers his own supernatural abilities as he joins a secret organization defending Earth from monstrous invaders. In 2021, Ichihara released Long Goodbye My Honey, a josei manga about a young woman named Rose who arrives at a terminal station for the dead and is given a chance to reshape her destiny.
Ichihara is known for working exclusively in collaboration with Yuki Amemiya, who serves as the writer and scenarist while Ichihara provides the illustrations.
