Rika Kinugawa is a Japanese voice actress born in Tokyo on December 17, 1993. As a child, she was active and enjoyed playing outdoors, participating in athletic games rather than playing with dolls. She was a member of her high school tennis club. Her interest in voice acting was sparked in junior high school when a friend lent her a DVD of The Prince of Tennis, and she was impressed by the ability to convey emotion through voice alone. After graduating from high school, she enrolled in the voice acting department at the Tokyo Animator Academy to pursue her dream.
Kinugawa made her debut as a voice actor in 2013. Her early career consisted of supporting and extra roles in anime, with her first major casting opportunities arriving in 2016 for the series Hundred and Hybrid x Heart Magias Academy Ataraxia. Initially, she was affiliated with the agency With Line, but on January 1, 2020, she transitioned to First Wind Production. In 2024, she left First Wind Production to become a freelance voice actor, and later that year, in October, she joined the Tokyo Actor's Consumer's Cooperative Society, also known as Haikyo.
Kinugawa's most prominent and career-defining role to date is Yūgiri in the popular anime series Zombie Land Saga, which began in 2018 and continued with Zombie Land Saga Revenge in 2021. This character is considered a leading role and the most important of her career, providing her with the opportunity to showcase her singing and dancing skills as a member of the in-series idol group Franchouchou. Her work with Franchouchou has been a significant part of her career, with the group releasing multiple singles and albums that have charted well, including Zombieland Saga Franchouchou The Best, which reached number four on the Oricon albums chart.
Beyond her iconic role in Zombie Land Saga, Kinugawa has built a diverse portfolio of anime roles. She voices Takako Chino in the series Orange and its film adaptation Orange: Mirai.
