Sharjil Rasool
Description
Sharjil Rasool is a Canadian actor, comedian, and writer known for his work in television and as a voice actor in animated series. He is an alumnus of The Second City Toronto Mainstage, where he wrote and performed in several mainstage revues. His work in comedy extends to performances at various North American comedy festivals, including being featured in the JFL42 New Faces showcase.
Rasool's most prominent role in animation is providing the voice of Ajit in the Bakugan anime series. He first voiced the character in Bakugan: Armored Alliance, which began airing in 2020 on Teletoon in Canada and Cartoon Network in the United States. Ajit is a main protagonist in the series, known as an Aurelus brawler who joins the Awesome Brawlers. Rasool continued to voice the character in subsequent installments of the franchise, including Bakugan: Legends.
In addition to his voice work, Rasool has appeared in live-action television roles. He is known for playing the character Nikhil in the CBC series Run the Burbs. Other television credits include guest appearances on shows such as What We Do in the Shadows, Baroness von Sketch Show, Abroad, SkyMed, and the series New Eden.
Rasool also starred in the 2019 short film Alaska, which won the award for Best Canadian Short Film at the Toronto After Dark Film Festival and was the Grand Prize Winner at JFL NorthWest: World Wide Shorts.
