Miwa Kohinata is a Japanese voice actress, narrator, and actress born on March 22, 1975, in Tokyo, Japan. She spent part of her childhood in Iwate and Aichi prefectures. She is a graduate of Keio University and also received professional training at visual and performing arts academies.

She began her career in 1999 under the stage name Miwa Sugihara. She has also used the name Miwa Tsukinohara at different points in her career. Over the years, Kohinata has been affiliated with several talent management agencies, including Production Baobab, Genki Project, and Remax. Since April 1, 2019, she has worked as a freelance voice actor.

Kohinata is known for her versatile and energetic voice, which allows her to portray a wide range of characters, from young children to elderly women, and from girls to mature women. Her voice work spans anime television series, video games, and foreign film dubs.

A significant and recent role is that of Lady Kamuhitsuki, the head goddess, in both the 2020 video game and the 2024 anime television series adaptation of Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin. In the same franchise, she also voiced the character Toyohana in the game.

Another notable performance is her work in the anime Space Brothers (Uchū Kyōdai), where she voiced multiple characters, including Karen Jones, who she also played in the 2014 compilation film Space Brothers: Number Zero.
