Yōsuke Kubozuka

Description
Yōsuke Kubozuka is a Japanese actor whose primary career is in live-action film and television, with his work as an anime voice actor being a limited part of his portfolio. Born on May 7, 1979, in Yokosuka, Kanagawa, he began his acting career in 1995 and rose to prominence with roles in television dramas such as GTO and Ikebukuro West Gate Park. He achieved significant critical acclaim for his lead role in the 2001 film GO, for which he became the youngest actor to win the Japan Academy Film Prize for Best Actor. Beyond acting, he is also active as a reggae musician under the stage name Manji Line and has worked as a model, music video director, and photographer.

In the realm of anime, Kubozuka's most notable credit to date is providing the voice for the character George. He voiced this role in two related 2023 productions based on Osamu Tezuka's Phoenix saga: the film Phoenix: Reminiscence of Flower and the streaming series Phoenix: Eden17. The film version presents a different ending from the television series. Aside from this prominent role in a major anime adaptation, there is no widely documented information about him taking on other significant voice roles in animation or establishing recurring collaborations within the anime industry. His career remains overwhelmingly focused on his work as a live-action film and television actor.
