Description
Ominaeshi is a Japanese manga artist and illustrator from Niigata Prefecture, born on July 13. Their professional output is primarily in the four-panel manga format, a style commonly used for comedic and slice-of-life storytelling. Ominaeshi began their serialization career with "Kyou mo Hare no Hi," which ran on the "Minna no Comic" platform from November 2015 to March 2017. This was followed by "Kaidou Akane no Touchaku da mon! From Yajikita Douchuuki," serialized in Heroes magazine from November 2019 to March 2021.
Ominaeshi is best known as the creator of "Mahoutsukai Roze no Sado Life," which is the original manga behind the anime referenced as The Sado Life of Rosé the Witch. This series began serialization in Houbunsha's Manga Time Kirara Forward magazine in October 2022 and remains ongoing, with multiple compiled tankoubon volumes released under the Manga Time KR Comics imprint. Prior to this breakout work, Ominaeshi contributed short pieces to several anthology comics, including series like "Urara Meirochou" and "Yuru Camp△," demonstrating an active presence within the broader manga anthology community.
In addition to serialized manga, Ominaeshi gained significant online recognition for a series of illustrations posted on social media beginning in 2020. This collection of images, centered on the idealized everyday life of a childhood friend, was later compiled into a printed art book and manga collection titled "Konna Osananajimi ga Ite Hoshii" published by Ichijinsha in November 2022. This project highlights a recurring theme in Ominaeshi's work, which often focuses on warm, character-driven interactions, gentle comedy, and the nuanced dynamics of close personal relationships.
Ominaeshi's artistic identity is closely tied to the aesthetics of the four-panel genre, emphasizing concise visual storytelling and charm in character design. The creator's significance in the industry is marked by a successful transition from social media illustration and anthology contributions to securing a long-running serialization in a major magazine like Kirara Forward, a publication known for launching successful slice-of-life and comedy series. Beyond print manga, Ominaeshi has also contributed character designs for other media, such as the virtual YouTuber Kohinata Hinatsu in 2022, indicating a versatile role within character-driven content creation.
