This manga began as a web comic posted on the social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, in November 2022 before being picked up for formal serialization. The series officially launched in Kodansha’s Young Magazine, a publication aimed at a seinen demographic, in February 2023. The first collected tankoubon volume was released by Kodansha in August of the same year, and the series demonstrated consistent output, with its eleventh volume published by February 2026.

The creator’s primary and most notable work to date is Chainsmoker Cat. The story centers on a catgirl named Yani whose life is defined by a heavy cigarette addiction and an extremely messy, dysfunctional living situation.
