Sakurai's background in performing arts began at a young age. She studied kids dance for six years during elementary school, which laid an early foundation for stage performance. Following this, she spent six years from her first year of middle school through her third year of high school working with the Kanazawa Teens Musical Company. The character Ginko Momose is featured in the upcoming film Eiga Love Live! Hasu no Sora Jogakuin School Idol Club: Bloom Garden Party, which is scheduled to premiere in Japanese theaters on May 8, 2026. Furthermore, a television anime adaptation of the project has been announced and is set to begin airing in January 2027, with Sakurai confirmed to reprise her role. Outside of the Love Live! franchise, she has also voiced the role of Mayu in the anime Shuumatsu no Harem and provided voice work for the video game Yakuza 4.
