Camille Cottin

Description
Camille Cottin is a French actress whose work in voice performance for animation includes a notable role in the anime anthology series Star Wars: Visions. Her career in front of the camera includes acclaimed performances in French cinema and international series such as Killing Eve, and she has brought her talents to voice acting in both French and English-language productions.

Cottin’s most prominent anime voice role is Loi'e in Star Wars: Visions Volume 2. The character appears in the episode The Spy Dancer, produced by the French animation studio La Cachette and released on Disney+ in 2023. Loi'e is a nightclub performer and dancer on an Imperial-occupied planet who secretly works as a spy for the Rebel Alliance by planting tracking devices on her stormtrooper clientele. The story becomes personal when a mysterious Imperial officer attending her show is revealed to be her son, who was kidnapped from her as an infant and raised by the Empire. The episode draws inspiration from real-life historical figures such as Mata Hari and Josephine Baker, performers who also worked as spies during wartime. Cottin voices the role in English for the series.

Beyond her work in anime, Cottin has contributed to other animated films and series. In 2020, she voiced Madame Pandora, the mother of the title character, in the French animated feature Little Vampire, directed by Joann Sfar. That same year, she participated in the French-language dub of the Disney-Pixar film Soul, providing voice work for additional characters. She also had an uncredited voice role in the 2016 animated film Ballerina, known internationally as Leap!.

Cottin's background in performance spans stage and screen. Before her international breakthrough, she worked in French theater for nearly fifteen years and gained widespread recognition in France for her comedic roles on television, particularly in the series Call My Agent! (also known as Ten Percent) and the hidden-camera series Connasse. Her English-language skills, developed during five years of study in London, have enabled her to work on international productions in their original language, including her voice role in Star Wars: Visions. Her performance in Connasse, princess of hearts earned her a nomination at the 41st César Award ceremony, France's national film prize.
