Description
Soungdok is a Japanese male voice actor from Osaka Prefecture, born on November 12. He is a Zainichi Korean, meaning he is an ethnic Korean resident of Japan, and speaks both the Kansai dialect of Japanese and Korean. He is affiliated with the talent agency I'm Enterprise and is a graduate of the Japan Narration Acting Institute.
Soungdok began his professional voice acting career in the 2010s, with his first television anime roles appearing in 2017. These early supporting parts included characters in series such as Chiruran: Nibun no Ichi, Masked Noise, and Chronos Ruler. He continued to build his portfolio with roles in popular long-running series, including a soldier in Golden Kamuy and a player in Sword Art Online: Alicization. In the Sword Art Online: Alicization War of Underworld arc, he voiced the character Zhao Yuexing, also known as Moon Phase.
One of his most recognizable roles is that of Risu in the dark fantasy series Dorohedoro. Risu is a sorcerer with a rare magical ability called Curse, and he is a member of the Cross-Eyes organization. Soungdok provides the character's Japanese voice in the anime adaptation. Beyond this role, his other notable anime appearances include a part in The Great Pretender, as Furuno in Chainsaw Man, in Trigun Stampede, and in the sports film Farewell, My Dear Cramer: First Touch. In 2025, he was cast as Gura-san in the television anime Let's Go Karaoke!. His film work also includes a role as Combatant J in SHIROBAKO The Movie.
In addition to his work in television and film, Soungdok has a significant presence in video games and web anime. His video game credits include roles in IDOLiSH7 as Hiroto Oda, Unicorn Overlord as Lothar, as well as appearances in Alice Fiction, Brown Dust, and The Seven Deadly Sins: Grand Cross. His web animation work includes parts in Japan Sinks: 2020 and ULTRAMAN. Known for his versatility, he has also contributed to digital comics and audiobooks.
