Mariya Nagao is a Japanese voice actress and former idol singer. She was born on March 10, 1994, and is a native of Saitama Prefecture. Before embarking on her voice acting career, Nagao was a member of the popular Japanese idol group AKB48. She joined the group in 2010 as part of the 12th generation and remained an active member until her graduation in 2016. During her time with AKB48, she was part of the Team A unit and also performed with the sub-units Not Yet and Chocolove from AKB48.
Following her departure from the idol industry, Nagao transitioned to a career in voice acting. She made her anime debut in 2016, landing the role of Purupu in the television series Taboo Tattoo. This role marked the beginning of her active career in the voice acting industry. Her notable voice roles include Toka Ryumonbuchi in the series Saki: Achiga-hen episode of Side-A, a role she also reprised for a special. In the same year, she performed as Ren Inaba in the mini-series Voice Girl. Her other major roles include parts in live-action and anime adaptations such as Kamen Rider Build New World: Kamen Rider Cross-Z, where she voiced the character Yui Mabuchi, and the television series Two Car. One of her recurring roles is Mio Ōsaka in the series Grapara! Her performance credits also include the television series Otonari Complex.
