Description
Riko Korie is a Japanese freelance illustrator, manga artist, and original character designer. She was born on February 2 in Tokyo, Japan, and her pen name is derived from her real name. Her professional career began in the visual novel industry, where she initially worked as a colorist for the adult game brand Kero Q, which is owned by Moon Phase Co., Ltd.. After contributing character designs and original art to doujin (independent) game projects, she made her commercial debut as an original artist for the visual novel The Day When Television Disappeared, released under Kero Q's sister brand Petit Kero Q in 2007.

Korie is best known as the creator of the original manga series Alice or Alice. The series is a four-panel comedy manga that began serialization in Media Factory's seinen magazine Comic Cune in September 2013, initially as a one-shot before becoming a regular series. The story focuses on the daily lives of twin sisters, Rio and Rise, and their older brother. The manga was subsequently adapted into an anime television series produced by the studio EMT Squared, which premiered in Japan on April 4, 2018.

Beyond her original manga, a significant portion of Korie's career involves illustrating light novel series and providing character designs for visual novels. Her work as an illustrator for light novel series includes the long-running Unlimited Fafnir by Tsukasa, as well as the series Tsuki Tsuki! by Yujin Goto and Leave it to Lilith! by Kaede Asamiya. In the visual novel industry, she has contributed original art to numerous games, including Supreme Candy and Ikinari Anata ni Koishiteiru for the brand Makura, as well as Magical Charming! and the Amairo Chocolata series for the brand Lump of Sugar. She also operates a personal doujin circle named Mujin Shojo. Her artistic style is noted for its bright and cheerful aesthetic, with particular attention given to character hairstyles and costume details. She was the conceptual character designer for the anime series The Iceblade Sorcerer Shall Rule the World, which aired in 2023, based on the light novel series for which she also provided the illustrations.
