Keisuke Chiba is a Japanese voice actor born on September 26, 1987, in Hyogo Prefecture, Japan. He stands 162 centimeters tall and is a graduate of both the Nihon Narration Engi Kenkyujo and the Amusement Media General Academy. His special skills include impersonating a woman over the telephone, and his listed hobbies are literature, watching kabuki theater, photography, and visiting shrines.
Chiba is best known for providing the Japanese voice of Morty Smith across multiple entries in the Rick and Morty franchise. He originally began voicing the character in the Japanese-language dub of the original American animated series. He later reprised this role for several anime short films, including Samurai & Shogun released in 2020 and its 2021 sequel, Rick and Morty vs. Genocider, and The Great Yokai Battle of Akihabara, all of which preceded the full television series.
His most prominent role to date is starring as the lead character Morty Smith in the 2024 series Rick and Morty: The Anime. This series, created and directed by Takashi Sano for Adult Swim, follows Rick, Morty, and the rest of the Smith family on new intergalactic adventures. Chiba voices the main Morty Smith, as well as alternate versions of the character such as President Morty and Space Morty. In this production, he works alongside voice actor Yōhei Tadano, who voices Rick Sanchez, continuing their collaboration from the original series' Japanese dub. The series premiered in August 2024, and Chiba continued in the role for the eighth season of the original show's Japanese dub, which began streaming in May 2025.
Beyond his work in the Rick and Morty franchise, Chiba’s early anime television credits include minor roles. He appeared as a cheerleader in five episodes of Gundam Reconguista in G and as a student in a single episode of Cute High Earth Defense Club HAPPY KISS!. He has also contributed to video game voice work, with a role in the Japanese version of Hogwarts Legacy, released in February 2023, and a credit in Diablo IV: Vessel of Hatred from October 2024.
