Bobby Haworth
Description
Bobby Haworth is an English-language voice actor based in Texas known for his work on anime dubs. He has been active in the industry since at least the early 2020s, building a portfolio of supporting and lead roles across a range of genres. He is perhaps best known for his performance as Hikaru Setouchi in the comedy series Phantom of the Idol. In that production, he voiced one half of a struggling male idol duo who form an unusual partnership with a ghostly fan, a role that brought him wider recognition.
Haworth has also taken on a variety of other significant parts. In the romantic comedy The Dreaming Boy Is a Realist, he voiced the character Arimara. His other credits include the role of Furion in the fantasy action series Reincarnated as a Sword, Junpei Tamayama in the long-running sports anime Haikyu!!, and Testa in the isekai series Somehow I Got Stronger by Farming. He also appeared in the supernatural action series Tokyo Majin Gakuen Kenpucho: Tou Dai Ni Maku, voicing a character named Azumabashi.
His work often places him within the talent pool directed or produced by Kyle Colby Jones, a frequent ADR director at the Sentai Filmworks studio in Houston. Jones served as the ADR director for the English dub of Phantom of the Idol, where Haworth had a main role. The two also worked together on the English dub of the psychological thriller Kaiji: Ultimate Survivor, with Haworth voicing the character Hyena and Jones credited with additional voice work. Haworth has also voiced minor roles in other Sentai-associated dubs, including multiple guest characters such as a band club member, a diner guest, and a teacher in the series Keep Your Hands Off Eizouken!.
Beyond his voice acting, Haworth has participated in industry discussions about the business side of anime. In a podcast interview, he drew on his background in finance to discuss the impact of the 2008 financial crisis on American anime companies, including A.D. Vision (ADV), the predecessor to Sentai Filmworks. This intersection of creative and analytical knowledge provides a unique perspective on the history of the industry in Texas.
