Shimesaba is a Japanese writer and the original creator of the light novel series Hige o Soru. Soshite Joshi Kōsei o Hirou, commonly known as Higehiro. The name Shimesaba is a pen name, and specific biographical details such as the author's date of birth and personal background are not publicly documented.

Shimesaba is best known as the author of Higehiro, a romantic comedy drama that follows a young office worker who takes in a runaway high school girl. The story originated as a web novel serialized on the user-generated platform Kakuyomu from March 2017 to August 2018. Following its online success, the series was acquired for print publication by Kadokawa Shoten under its Sneaker Bunko imprint, with five light novel volumes released between February 2018 and June 2021. The novels feature illustrations by the artist booota.

The popularity of the original light novel led to multiple adaptations. A manga adaptation illustrated by Imaru Adachi began serialization in Kadokawa Shoten's Monthly Shōnen Ace magazine in November 2018 and concluded in January 2025, spanning 13 volumes. An anime television series adaptation produced by the studio Project No.9 aired for 13 episodes from April to June 2021.

In addition to Higehiro, Shimesaba is also credited as the author of another light novel series titled Regret. This work is described as a story about second chances at love, following a protagonist named Yuzuru Asada who reconnects with a former girlfriend, Ai Mizuno.
