Ryūzō Ishino is a Japanese voice actor born on December 12, 1962, in Tokyo, Japan. He has been active in the entertainment industry since 1986 and is affiliated with the talent agency 81 Produce.

Ishino is perhaps best known for his long-standing role as Chang Wufei (also romanized as Chang Wu-Fei), the pilot of the Shenlong Gundam, in the popular mecha franchise Mobile Suit Gundam Wing. His portrayal of the character spans multiple installments, including the original television series Mobile Suit Gundam Wing, the OAV sequels Mobile Suit Gundam Wing: Endless Waltz and Mobile Suit Gundam Wing: Operation Meteor, as well as the compilation film Mobile Suit Gundam Wing: Endless Waltz Special Edition.

Another significant role in his career is the character of Chōsokabe Motochika (also romanized as Motochika Chōsokabe) in the Sengoku Basara franchise. He voiced this character across several series, including Sengoku Basara: Samurai Kings, Sengoku Basara Two, and Sengoku Basara: End of Judgement, as well as in the video game Sengoku Basara 2. He also reprised the role in the spin-off comedy series Gakuen Basara: Samurai High School.

Beyond these two signature roles, Ishino has demonstrated considerable range by performing in various other anime series. He voiced the character Bucchake across multiple entries in the Duel Masters franchise, including Duel Masters Victory, Duel Masters Victory V, Duel Masters Victory V3, Duel Masters VS, and Duel Masters Versus Revolution Final. He also played the role of Kozato in both Gurazeni: Money Pitch and Gurazeni Season 2.

His other notable anime credits include the role of Tommy Fujioka in Hyper Police, Iwao Kamura in Ganbarist! Shun, Daruma in Shoka, Souya in G-Saviour, Kyō Mizushima in Suikoden Demon Century, God in Kyōryū Bōkenki Jura Tripper, and the character Smile in.hack//Roots. He also had a role as Gettle Deple in Mobile Suit Victory Gundam.

In addition to his work in anime, Ishino has a substantial career in video games. He provided the voice for Luzzu in Final Fantasy X, Kurtz in Tales of Graces, and Sasuke in Ehrgeiz. He also voiced characters in the Sengoku Basara video game series and portrayed Icy Penguigo in Mega Man: Maverick Hunter X.

Ishino has also worked extensively in tokusatsu productions, appearing in several Super Sentai and Kamen Rider series. His roles in this genre include Debo Peshango in Zyuden Sentai Kyoryuger, Ayakashi Hitomidama in Samurai Sentai Shinkenger, and Rat Fangire in Kamen Rider Kiva.

For international audiences, Ishino is known as the Japanese dub voice for several characters. He voiced Salty and Den in the Japanese version of Thomas & Friends, succeeding Naoki Tatsuta in the role of Salty. He also provided the Japanese voice for Bendy in Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends, Abyo in Pucca, and Furball in Tiny Toon Adventures.
