Kensuke Satō

Kensuke Sato is a Japanese voice actor born on May 14, 1978, in Nagasaki Prefecture. He is represented by the talent agency Aksent, having moved there in December 2012 after previously being affiliated with Office PAC.

Known for his husky voice, Sato has demonstrated considerable vocal range throughout his career, portraying a wide variety of male characters from young adults to elderly men. He is also recognized for voicing numerous non-human characters and creatures, which has led to extensive work in long-running and popular anime franchises.

Sato is particularly well-known for his significant number of roles in the Pokémon anime series, where he has voiced both human characters and Pokémon across many installments since 2011. His roles include the train conductor Nobori, the gym leader Limone (Citron in the original Japanese version), Citron's Rentorar, the Dragonite belonging to the character Iris, as well as Luxray and Electric Genesect in various Pokémon films.

He has also been a recurring presence in the Inazuma Eleven series, most notably as the character Taichi Sangoku (also known as Taichi Mikado) across multiple installments starting in 2008. His additional roles in this franchise include Deasta and numerous other supporting characters.

Beyond these long-term engagements, Sato has taken on a variety of other significant supporting roles. He voiced Nikolai Aftotorr (also spelled Avdotor) in both seasons of Chaika - The Coffin Princess. He played Kibito in the Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress television series as well as in the film Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress: The Battle of Unato. In the mecha genre, he voiced Malloy Direzza in both Aquarion and Aquarion Evol, and Shin Yamana in Danbōru Senki Wars.

His filmography also includes the role of Taisuke Otsubo, the captain of Shutoku High School's basketball team, in Kuroko's Basketball, White Blood Cell U-2048 in Cells at Work!, Mr. Plastic in My Hero Academia: Two Heroes, Eddie Hawthorne in Moriarty the Patriot, and Hideyoshi Ushiromiya in stage adaptations of Umineko When They Cry. Additional credits include appearances in Vinland Saga, Great Pretender, Chihayafuru, Tokyo Ravens, A Certain Magical Index, and the Yo-kai Watch series.
