Raffaele Uzzi
Description
Raffaele Uzzi is an Italian voice actor known for his work in dubbing foreign films and animated series for the Italian audience. He was a former member of the Gruppo Trenta, a historical dubbing cooperative in Rome.
One of Uzzi's most recognized voice roles is Daisuke Jigen, the sharpshooter and loyal partner of Arsène Lupin III, in the first Italian television dub of the classic animated film Lupin III: The Castle of Cagliostro. This dubbing was produced for television broadcast in 1984. In this version, he voiced the character originally performed by Japanese actor Kiyoshi Kobayashi. Due to the existence of multiple dubs for the film over the years, Uzzi is specifically associated with this original Italian-language edition.
His work in animation also includes providing the Italian voice for the character of Sam the Eagle in the film The Muppets' Wizard of Oz. Beyond animation, Uzzi had a prolific career dubbing live-action performances for Italian cinema and television. His voice can be heard in Italian dubs for actors such as John Lithgow in films like 2010: The Year We Make Contact and Terms of Endearment, Joe Mantegna in The Godfather Part III, Christopher Lloyd in The Man Who Was Sherlock Holmes, Anthony Hopkins in Juggernaut, and Danny Glover in Witness. He also dubbed Ron Perlman in the television series Beauty and the Beast and Sam Elliott in The Yellow Rose.
