Gorō Mutsumi was a Japanese actor and voice actor known for his extensive work in film, television, and anime. He was born on September 11, 1934, in Kobe, Japan, and passed away on June 5, 2021, at the age of 86. His career in entertainment began in 1955 and spanned several decades, during which he became a familiar presence in Japanese period dramas, known as jidaigeki, and special effects productions, called tokusatsu, where he frequently portrayed villainous characters.

In addition to his on-screen performances, Mutsumi had a prolific career as a voice actor. He provided the Japanese dub voice for American actor David Janssen in the television series The Fugitive, voicing the lead role of Dr. Richard Kimble. His anime voice roles include the character Crystal Bowie in the 1982 animated feature Space Adventure Cobra - The Movie. He also performed the voice for the role of Dr. Paul Stewart in the 1966 kaiju film The War of the Gargantuas. Other notable voice credits include the role of Commander Mugal in the 1975 film Terror of Mechagodzilla and Commander Hell in The War in Space from 1977. Beyond character voices, he was frequently cast as a narrator for various television series, including Mirrorman and Hissatsu Shikakenin.
