Yutaka Kōno

Description
Yutaka Kōno is the original creator of the light novel series Sagrada Reset, also known as Sakurada Reset. This work serves as the primary source material for a multimedia franchise that includes a manga adaptation, an anime television series, and a two-part live-action film.

The original light novel was written by Yutaka Kōno and illustrated by You Shiina. It was published by Kadokawa Shoten under their Sneaker Bunko imprint, with the first volume released on May 30, 2009, and the seventh and final volume concluding the series on March 31, 2012. Reprints of the novels were later announced alongside the production of the anime and live-action films, with the first reprinted volume appearing on September 24, 2016.

Yutaka Kōno's work as the original creator led to several major adaptations. A manga adaptation illustrated by Masahiko Yoshihara began serialization in Kadokawa Shoten's Monthly Shōnen Ace magazine in December 2010 and was compiled into two volumes. A second manga adaptation, illustrated by Tatsu Nohana, began publication in 2017. For this second manga, Yutaka Kōno took on the roles of supervisor and scriptwriter. A 24-episode anime television series produced by David Production aired from April 5 to September 13, 2017. Additionally, a two-part live-action film was released, with the first part premiering on March 25, 2017, and the second part on May 13, 2017.

The narrative of Sagrada Reset is set in the fictional town of Sakurada, where nearly half the population possesses supernatural abilities. The story follows Kei Asai, a boy with perfect memory, and Misora Haruki, a girl who can reset the world to a point up to three days in the past. The series is noted for its complex, philosophical approach to its supernatural premise, focusing on the logical consequences and interplay of various abilities rather than action-driven sequences. The English title Sagrada Reset originates from the Spanish word sagrada, meaning sacred, creating a wordplay on the town's name, Sakurada.
