Daisuke Hosomi

Daisuke Hosomi is a Japanese actor and voice actor born on November 23, 1973, in Osaka Prefecture, Japan. He stands 180 cm tall and has blood type A. His career began in theater when he joined the theatrical troupe Caramelbox in 1995, remaining with the company until 2009. Following his departure from Caramelbox, he co-founded the theatrical unit Na Polypropylene. He is currently affiliated with the talent agency Herringbone.
Hosomi’s voice acting portfolio includes a range of roles in anime television series and films. In the 2011 series C – Control – The Money and Soul of Possibility, he voiced Sōichirō Mikuni, a major character. The following year, he played Captain Ayumi, a character with the catchphrase "You're overdoing it-!!", in the 2012 fishing-themed anime Tsuritama. He is known for his ongoing role as O.D., a melancholic and powerful Gatchaman who claims he cannot transform, in both the 2013 series Gatchaman Crowds and its 2015 sequel, Gatchaman Crowds insight.
Hosomi has also voiced characters in other notable productions. He played the role of Sakashita, a guard at the Nanatsuguchi entrance to the inner chambers of Edo Castle, in the 2024 theatrical anime Mononoke The Movie: Phantom in the Rain. He reprised the role of Sakashita for the subsequent film in the series, Mononoke The Movie: Chapter II – The Ashes of Rage, released in 2025.
Beyond his prominent roles, Hosomi’s other anime voice credits include the character Kuzuryu in Family Guy, a role that has also been part of his career. He has made guest appearances in long-running series as well, such as providing the voice of Dr. Fudo in the 2008 anime Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's. His range also extends to live-action acting, with television drama credits including a role in the series Shinsengumi Keppuroku. A recurring creative collaboration can be noted with director Kenji Nakamura, as Hosomi has worked on Nakamura’s projects Tsuritama, Gatchaman Crowds, and the Mononoke films.
