Wada was born on August 25, 1979, in Kochi Prefecture, Japan, and is affiliated with the talent agency Watanabe Entertainment. Before his acting career, he was a competitive runner, holding a notable half-marathon record. He began his performance career in October 2004 after receiving a special award at the first D-BOYS audition, subsequently becoming a member of that acting troupe.

Wada's early career was heavily tied to stage musicals, most notably the Tenimyu series, The Prince of Tennis musicals. From 2005 to 2007, he portrayed Sengoku Kiyosumi, a regular from Yamabuki Middle School, marking his first major stage role. He later appeared in the 2006 live-action film The Prince of Tennis, not as his stage character, but in a cameo as Kintarou Tooyama from the Shitenhoji team, which was his film debut.

His most widely recognized role came in 2012 when he starred as Nobuo Akagi, also known as Akiba Red, in the series Unofficial Sentai Akibaranger. He played the lead protagonist in this self-aware parody of the Super Sentai franchise across its original run and its second season, Unofficial Sentai Akibaranger Season 2. The character is an ardent fan of anime and tokusatsu, and Wada is the primary actor portraying the character in live-action scenes.

Beyond these notable parts, Wada has built a substantial body of work in Japanese television dramas. He has appeared in numerous series, including the serialized morning drama Gochisousan as Kenta Izumi, and had recurring roles in shows such as Akumu-chan as Mineki Yamasato (also known as Yamasato Mineki), Shigeshoshi as the lead character Mamiya Shinjuro, and The Quiz Show as Takeuchi Noboru. His film credits also include Kamogawa Horumo as Seimori Taira.

Throughout his career, Wada has been a consistent member of the D-BOYS group, participating in numerous stage productions under that name, including the D-BOYS STAGE series. His stage work extends beyond Tenimyu, with performances in productions based on novels and original plays. Wada remains active in the entertainment industry, with his career spanning from 2004 to the present.
