John Avner is an American voice actor born on June 24, 1953, in New York City, New York. He is primarily recognized for his work providing English voices for various anime films and series.

Avner is best known for his role as Void, a primary antagonist and the eldest member of the God Hand, in the English dub of the Berserk franchise. He first voiced this character in the 1997 anime series and reprised the role in the Golden Age Arc film trilogy, specifically in Berserk: The Golden Age Arc III - The Advent, as well as the subsequent re-edit series Berserk: The Golden Age Arc - Memorial Edition.

Beyond his work in Berserk, Avner voiced the character Gin in the English dub of the acclaimed film Tokyo Godfathers. His performance is featured in the version produced by GKIDS, distinguishing it from an earlier English dub for Sony where the character was performed by Darren Pleavin. He also provided the voice for Hatayasu in the English version of the anime series Phoenix and the voice of Fuji in the series The Gokusen.
