Gaetano Varcasia was an Italian actor and voice actor known for his extensive work in dubbing foreign films, television series, and animated productions for the Italian market. Born in Rome on September 6, 1959, he began his career in 1983, working on stage as both an actor and a director, as well as making minor appearances on Italian television. Varcasia became best known as a voice dubber, providing the official Italian voice of Mickey Mouse in all Disney productions from 1988 to 1995, as well as dubbing numerous characters from popular American television series. His career in voice acting continued until his death on November 10, 2014, at the age of 55.

Within the field of anime and animated series, Varcasia contributed his voice to several notable projects. In the animated film Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, he voiced The Fallen, a primary antagonist in the Transformers franchise. He was also a familiar presence in the Italian dubbing of the Lupin III series. He played Ivan Krokovitch, a Russian mafia boss also known as Rats, in the 2003 television special Lupin III: Operation Return the Treasure. Additionally, he voiced the antagonist Pycal, a magician seeking revenge against Lupin, in the 2002 original video animation Lupin III: Return of Pycal, also known as Lupin III: Return of the Magician. Through these roles, Varcasia built a reputation as a skilled vocal actor within the Italian dubbing industry, lending his voice to a range of characters in both film and television animation.
