Hidehiko Ishizuka

Description
Hidehiko Ishizuka is primarily a Japanese comedian and actor, though he has performed voice work for several animated and live-action projects. He was born on February 6, 1962, in Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan. He is best known as a member of the comedic duo Honjamaka, gaining popularity through food report segments on variety television programs. His career in front of the camera has been extensive, including narration and drama appearances, rather than being centered on anime voice acting.

One of Ishizuka's most recognized roles in a narrative film is the live-action portrayal of Maruo in the movie trilogy adaptation of 20th Century Boys. Maruo is a childhood friend of the protagonist Kenji and a member of their friend group who helps protect their secret base. He also performed a voice role in the anime film Naruto the Movie: Ninja Clash in the Land of Snow, providing the voice of Sousetsu Kazehana, the daimyo of the Land of Snow. In the live-action original video project Shonan Junaigumi! Bad Company, he played the character Mr. Ushijima.

Beyond these specific titles, Ishizuka has worked extensively in Japanese dubbing for Western animated features. He provided the Japanese voice for James P. Sullivan, or Sulley, in the Japanese releases of Monsters, Inc., Monsters University, and the video game Kingdom Hearts III. Additional dubbing work includes the character Boog in the Japanese version of the animated film Open Season.

Due to the nature of his career, which focuses on live-action comedy, television presentation, and dubbing, detailed information about a broader range of anime voice roles, recurring industry collaborations, or specific achievements as an anime voice actor is not available.
