Description
Born Francisco Javier Moriones in Rome on June 27, 1943, to a Spanish father and an Italian mother, Saverio Moriones is an Italian actor and voice actor whose career in performance began in 1966. He first gained attention on the children's television program Giocagiò, which aired until 1969, but he is most widely recognized for his extensive work as a dubbing artist. His Spanish heritage allowed him to specialize in providing Italian voices for characters with Hispanic accents and ethnicities. Moriones remained active in the entertainment industry until 2020.

Moriones has contributed to numerous anime and animated series in the Italian dubbing market. One of his notable roles in animation is Seizaemon in the 1994 Studio Ghibli film Pom Poko, a story about raccoon dogs fighting urban development. His work also includes the role of Tao Bai Bai, an assassin, in the Italian dub of the 1988 film Dragon Ball Movie 3: Mystical Adventure. He voiced the character Wong Lee in the mecha series Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam, a representative from the Anaheim Electronics corporation who often clashes with the protagonists. Additionally, Moriones took on the title role of Capitan Futuro in the Italian version of the 1978 science fiction series Captain Future, which follows the adventures of a space-traveling hero.

His film and television work extends beyond animation. Moriones is the regular Italian voice actor for actor Danny Trejo and has dubbed actors such as Joe Pesci in the first two Home Alone films and Richard Dean Anderson in the series MacGyver. In the realm of live-action film, he voiced the character John Keller, the United States Secretary of Defense played by Jon Voight, in the 2007 Transformers film. He also dubbed the role of Dr. Furoi Hakase in the live-action Casshern film. Moriones has contributed to other major animated features as well, providing the Italian voices for Roadkill in Rango, Chicharrón in Coco, and Slinky Dog in Toy Story 4 following the death of the character's previous voice actor.
