Kenny James is an American voice actor recognized for his extensive work in video games and English dubs of Japanese anime. Born on July 14, 1963, he was raised in Southeast Texas. Before beginning his entertainment career, James served for six years in the United States Navy as a Sonar Technician on a submarine. Following his honorable discharge, he pursued music as a singer in various bands for over a decade before transitioning to voice-over work. He started by recording small projects from a home studio, and his first major voice acting role came in 2004 when he was cast as Bowser in the video game Super Mario Strikers, a character he would continue to voice regularly in the Super Mario franchise.

In addition to his prolific video game career, James has become active in English dubbing for anime, frequently working with studios like Funimation and Crunchyroll. His anime filmography includes a range of supporting and secondary characters. He voices the character Perugius Dola in the series Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation. Other notable roles in anime include Fritz in Attack on Titan, Nubon and Miyagi in One Piece, Iron in Fire Force, Leo in Black Summoner, and God in The 100 Girlfriends Who Really, Really, Really, Really, Really Love You. He has also provided voices for additional characters in numerous other series, including Restaurant to Another World, ID: Invaded, Back Arrow, My Senpai Is Annoying, and Failure Frame.

James has also contributed to donghua, the term for Chinese animation, voicing the character Big Johnny in To Be Hero X. Beyond animation, he has performed in live theater for fifteen years and makes appearances at fan conventions.
