Mario Desmarais is a Canadian voice actor and dubbing artist from Montreal, Quebec, born in October 1948. He is a graduate of the École nationale de théâtre, having completed his studies in 1971. Desmarais is best known for his extensive work in French-language dubbing for the Quebec market, where he has provided voices for numerous animated series, films, and video games. His career includes serving as the official Québécois voice for several major Hollywood actors, including Harrison Ford, Robin Williams, Dan Aykroyd, and William Shatner. In the realm of animation, Desmarais is recognized for providing the voice of Ultra Magnus in the classic series The Transformers and General Hawk in the 1980s G.I. Joe cartoon. He also voices the characters Principal Seymour Skinner and Mayor Joe Quimby in the Québécois French dub of The Simpsons. Desmarais has contributed to the Pokémon franchise, specifically taking on the role of Dr. Lung in the animated film Pokémon: Destiny Deoxys. His work in feature-length animation includes providing the French Canadian voice for Buzz Lightyear in the Toy Story franchise as well as the Genie in Aladdin and its sequels. Beyond his voice acting career, Desmarais has also worked in production and direction on various documentary projects.
